Thanksgiving Fun

Thanksgiving was very fun this year. My cousin Linsey, her husband Austin and there son Carson joined my parents, Logan , Us and my Grandparents at the Bastian house this year. We all helped as we could as well as worked on wood projects and watched the kids. Sky loved eating all the food with us at the big table and especially liked dessert. Tim was able to play in a Turkey bowl with friends earlier that morning just up the street from our house. We didn't forget to take pictures that's for sure. It was sorta silly...when we took the picture of all the kids together, all the moms (my mom, Linsey and I) had our cameras ready and were trying to get our kids to smile at the same time for each of the cameras going off at the same time. Black Friday is always a big deal, so after dessert the boys went out and got the paper. After looking through it Austin was the only one willing to wake up and get his item at 4:00 am. Later that morning Linsey, my mom and I were the first ones in line at other mothers for there quarter sale. We got there at 8:30 and the doors opened at 10:00 am and because we were first Linsey got a practically new little Einsteins jumper thing for a quarter, i got a car sear base for a quarter and my mom got a tub for 25 cents. that was all we spent, but we all walked out with much more, because other mothers handed out a red bag and anything in it was FREE. we each got a bag full and all together spent less then a dollar. IT WAS AWESOME!!! Saturday after thanksgiving my mom, Tim and i tried to see Twilight : New Moon, but they were sold out, we went the following Saturday and saw the movie and really had fun. Monday Tim and I went to the doctor for our check up, I am perfectly healthy and Tim is too, once he gets ride of his sinus infection that we didn't realize he has had for like 2 weeks. Sky is at the end of a cold that she may have given to Logan. oops, that's what happens when we have a kisser in the house. We are very proud of BSU and are looking forward to a blowout Saturday, Tim is hoping they are sent to the Fiesta Bowl so he can try to go. Finals week is in 2 weeks and then a well deserved break for Tim, we can't wait.

What A Slacker

Well there is no good reason for me to have slacked so bad on my blog...i would like to apologize, and hopefully i will do better. Well lots has happened since my last post in September. Skylr is 18 months now and as of her doctor visit today, she is perfect. she is in the 80% tile for about everything and is developing beautifully. She has been talking to us a lot more and is doing amazing with her Please "peese" and Thank You "day doo" she is a very polite little girl and askes for something using "Peese"without being asked about 60% of the time. She has also started to tell you to Stop "TOP" when you are doing things she doesn't like. Mainly to Darby "Darboo" and her father. She has also decided that she likes to sit on the potty and asks to do so through out the day some days. She has not actually gone to the bathroom on the her potty, but she is moving in the right direction. Skylr also has found that climbing is the coolest. Sky and I have also refinished a dresser for her to match the big girl bed she will move into this spring. Tim's best friend Evan has FINALLY (lol) gotten married to an awesome woman (Brittney)I had the pleasure of decorating for the reception and Graples was kind enough to provide the decor. Everything was wonderful and went smoothly. It was a long day, but a great one.

Halloween was fun, Sky was a Tiger and she went Trick 'or' Treating with mom, dad, and grandma Debbie in grandma's neighborhood. Sky loved watching all of the other kids in there costumes, as well as helping grandma, or dad pass out candy. The day before Halloween Grandma and Grandpa Miller and Logan (also known as Buddy to Sky) came over and we all carved pumpkins. Skylr was more interested in eating the raw pumpkin, but we all had lots of fun. Tim has been very busy with work and school... and to top it off he has been fighting a cold for the past week, but is getting much better. the holidays are around the corner which means Christmas break. we can't wait for Tim's break...but he is already registered for next semester, so we at least have a bright glimpse of a nicer school schedule (in comparison to this one and prior semesters). Tim should be graduating with his bachelors next spring, then on to the masters.
We also had some family pictures taken by and amazing photographer... she is just starting out and she did an amazing job.

Busy Bee's!!!

We celebrated my birthday July 23, at the park. We recently got Tim a 1970's Unevega 10 speed, so we packed up and had some fun putting some miles on the green belt in Boise. We were able to find a big park so that Sky could play, and she had a blast. Aside from it being a decently warm and a humid summer, we had lots of fun. The next day we had the opportunity to watch my little brother Logan while my mom and craig saw Harry Potter, that night was when we found out how much Skylr loves to hold Logan. Earlier this month we attended a wedding party in Jerome and Sky had a blast in the inflatables pool, as well as giving mom and dad kisses.

The next day was Logan's blessing, it was so fun to see the family, but Sky had a hard time during sacrament...causing her father to take her to the lobbing and leave her mom red in the face with embarrassment. Tim started school Aug. 24th which is the same day my mom went back to work and I started watching Logan.
Logan has been so fun to be with everyday, but I still wish my mom was able to be with Logan all day long. We also still have not gotten a house, we are still desperately trying to get the same house we put and offer in about a 2 months ago, but no "yes" yet, we are constantly told that if we are patient then the house is ours....but until we hear a "yes" we aren't making any plans, and we have stopped our house hunt until next year.

A couple of days ago Skylr was helping me pick tomatoes from our garden, when we got beck into the house she sat down and started eating one like an apple. She loved it, and ate the whole thing. Silly girl...at least she has good taste.

Skylr loves when we have BSU parties...she gets all decked out in her Bronco gear and when people come over she gets to be loud and celebrate how well they are doing.

More Activities

June 13th was my little brother Logan's baby shower. Since he was a month early, he was the special surprise for the party. Just about a week after the shower my cousin Karissa was baptised. She turned 8 March 3rd and waited until her Idaho visit to be baptised. That was an awesome experience and I am so glad she waited. A couple weeks ago was Tim and Skylr's first visit to the Boise Zoo.
We had lots of fun and enjoyed the fact that it wasn't busy. We had big plans for the 4th of July. We took Skylr on her first camping trip. We went to Burgdorf up past McCall for three nights, but had to quickly leave about 4:30 the third night because Skylr got sick. We can't imagine how she got sick. She slept with us and there was a heater in the tent. But since we have been home she has been doing much much better. During the camping trip Skylr decided that her favorite thing to do was ride the four wheeler with mom and dad.Although it did make her fall asleep a few
times.
The funniest part of camping was her interaction with Tim's best friend (Evan)'s dad. Any time he came near her she was mad and scared and wanted nothing to do with him. We tried to tell her he is an awesome guy, but any time we tried to get her close to him she would get mad at us. It was the laugh of the camp grounds.

We are still house hunting and hope to have our offer accepted soon on one of the two houses we are intested in, but until then Skylr is keeping me busy (getting into EVERYTHING). lol.

WOW!

Skylr turned one May 14. She was pretty sick a few days before her birthday parties, and had to have some breathing treatments...we think that she may have asthma. She was well by the time her parties rolled around...thank goodness.

I made Sky her own cupcake and she loved it, at first she wasn't sure if she should eat it, but once she licked the frosting it was everywhere. Skylr has also gotten her one year

pictures taken. We went to JCP first and they were the best so we went back to Sears (which is were we had her 6m. pics and our family pics done). Since Sky's birthday Tim and I have gone on the annual Huff 4 wheeling trip to Silver City, and then I

received a little brother just a few days after the trip. Logan Douglas Miller is now 8 days old and is as healthy as can be at around 7lbs (especially for being a month early). Tim has started his summer class and will be done in 5 short weeks. We have also been house hunting and hope to find the right one and move in this summer.

Time Fly's When Your Having Fun!!!

A few weeks ago we went for a walk on the green belt in Boise and stopped at a sundial and learned about that, then we walked to the fire fighters memorial and read some of the stories. The weather was so nice in the 70's, so we went on a little Idaho scenic expedition.
Skylr sat in her car and waved to all the other walkers. The following weekend it was
Easter so we visited family and friends. The last week in April we went to Jerome for Skylr's Great Great Grandma's 90Th birthday party. After the party Tim's brothers family, mom and us went to Shoshone Falls. It was so cool, it was as full as it has ever been in a very long time. Although it was cold and the wind threw water on us from the falls, we had fun. Last weekend was "Dia de la familia" at our stake center. We were invited to go since we have been attending the Spanish branch in our building on occasion. There were lots of
booths representing different classifications in the church, and they were serving lunch along with live music. We had lots of fun. Recently we changed Skylr's room around so that she wouldn't get into things she isn't supposed to get into. So now all of her toys are in her room unless we bring them out. so she often just plays in her room.Yesterday Tim went to check on Skylr (she was playing in her room) and he couldn't find her...he could hear her, but couldn't see her.
It took him a second and then he realized that she was playing under her bed. A toy was under there and she went to get it. She really scared Tim for a little, but it all ended in laughs.

Were is the Warmth

Easter weekend we visited Tim's Great Grandma in Jerome, while Tim also completed an interpreter course. The weekend was fun and ended on a good note...a friend of ours returned from his mission, we were also able to visit with Tim's mom, and ended to day at my parents house. Skylr had a great Easter...her great great grandma in Jerome insisted on hard boiling Sky some eggs to find, but Skylr just smashed them (we knew she was a little young for that). We are very excited for the warmth, but it is approaching a little to slowly...this weekend we plan on getting the yard all situated for our garden.

Skylr is now 11 months old and we have begun her birthday party planning. She is going way to fast...I can hardly fit her into 18 month outfits anymore. Sky loves to crawl, but her favorite this is to pull herself up on anything she can and try to figure-out how to climb it. She also enjoys her little toy walker, she would walk around the house with it all day if she could.

Yesterday Skylr got an Easter present from her grandparents (Tim's Dad and Shannon). They got her the coolest toy, it's a car that she can sit in and we push her. Skylr LOVES it. I can't wait for it to be warm enough for us to go on walks with it everyday. General Conference was last weekend and we thought it was great. We were able to be visited by my grandparents from Utah...it was nice to see them, it had been a while. This month sure is going to be busy for us. This weekend Tim is spending a couple nights in Jerome to complete a translation class. And Sunday a good friend of ours is returning from his mission. We are so excited for April and May. Tim's Great grandma is turning 90 at the end of the month and Skylr turns one on May 14th. Boy how time flies.
