Halloween Fun

This Halloween weekend was a blast!!!! Saturday was our wards trunk or treat and this year all the wards that attended our building participated in one huge 3 ward trunk or treat. It was awesome :) !!! First we started the evening with soup and salad with my parents made by my mom and me, then we headed over to the Trunk or Treat. This year Skylr was a Fairy Princess (that she picked out herself), I was a Ballerina, Tim was a football man and Darby was a Tiger. My parents didn't dress up, but Logan was a horse. Skylr went to every car and was so polite...saying trick or treat and thank you to everyone and then promptly asking for Tim's hand to hold (until I ran out of candy and went around to the last few cars with them, then she asked for my hand). Sunday the mall passed out candy and we used that as an excuse to do a little speed walking to try to induce labor, but no baby yet (just lots of contractions) then we went around the neighborhood for our final trick or treating experience in 2010, although I think Sky enjoyed passing out the candy more then asking for it. :)
Last Thursday was my most recent Dr.'s appointment and i was told that Gavin is doing great (in the head down position) and will come when he is ready, but the only thing i can do to move things along are walk, so we have been walking a lot. :) We are all ready for Gavin James Lucore to arrive and Skylr keeps telling me that he will come "soon mommy soon, Gavin come soon" whenever i ask her. Friday is our next appointment and hopefully I will have progressed even more, as of Thursday i am 2cm dilated and 50% effaced...which is great considering I am not in labor yet :) Come on Gavin we want to meet ya!!!

Fall Has Started

Friday Oct. 15th was a busy day. Tim started painting Gavin's room while I made dinner and got pumpkins ready to be painted and carved with my parents, and it was also the last day of watching Logan and the official start of my mom staying home with him. After 13 and 1/2 months of watching Logan, he now gets to spend all day with mom...we are so excited to have my mom home and to be back to our little Lucore unit. Saturday Tim and I finished painting Gavin's room and got all of the decoration's put together...We LOVE how his room turned out,we even framed the BSU sports illustrate and put them in his room and now we are just waited to get some letters to spell Gavin above his crib. A big thanks to Tim's Dad and Shannon for getting Gavin his room kit xxx!!! I have been seeing to doctor weekly since the beginning of the month and Gavin has been growing and doing great :) we are so happy with his development and position. Friday is our next appointment and that is when some birthing decisions will be made...if everything is progressing well we may get to meet him in a couple weeks...we can't wait!
Skylr has been such a big help around the house lately. She loves to put the dirty clothes on the washing machine (she can't reach to put them in), help change over the laundry, make the beds, put away the dishes, make biscuits, cut olives, set the table, put away clothes and so much more, but that's all that i can think of :)

Having Fun Together

The weather is changing like crazy and is keeping up to Idaho tradition. Last week was lucky to get to 70 degrees and this week we are up in the mid 80's...crazy. Tim has started school and we LOVE his new schedule. We are able to have dinner together every night and most mornings we enjoy breakfast as a family. We love having all the extra time and have been able to get so much done, as well as have so much time for relaxing and FUN. The backyard has been done for a few weeks so we are out there everyday and since we found a picnic table at a yard sale for $10 the kids LOVE eating lunch outside. Last week when it was colder Skylr and I made some chocolate chip cookies and Sky was all decked out in her backing gear and Loved helping. She has also been a big help picking the cherry tomatoes out of our garden...they were really late, but now we have to much to handle, so the other day Skylr and I picked about 5lbs of tomatoes...CRAZY...and there are still so many to pick. The other day Tim went up to Skylr's room to ask the kids to clean up, and this is what he found...those too are so funny together.
Last week we went to labor and delivery to check on Gavin...I have been getting a REALLY hard belly when I am up and about and then some pain in my lower abdomen, but the doctor said that Gavin and I are fine, but because of his size and position he is pushing on some tendents that make doing normal activity very uncomfortable. I have been taking it easy and wearing a belly support, which has helped a lot. We are starting to countdown until Gavin comes and are getting so excited. We are also excited that my mom will be quiting her job to stay home with Logan...she is really deserving of this and I can't wait to spend more time together and let the kids have fun as friends rather than siblings :) lol.

Tim's birthday is on Saturday 9/18 (he will be 27) and we plan to have a BBQ and then watch some BSU football at a friends...GO BOISE STATE BRONCOS!!!

Potty training update...Skylr has it down!!! She may have one accident every week or two, but very typical, Sky also manages to keep her diaper dry most days during nap and bed time and wants to go when she wakes up (I don't think she likes the wet diaper now that she knows what being dry is like). She has now decided to go #2 in the potty after having her first cold bath, she didn't like it and reminds us that she would rather go in the potty "no cold bath mommy, Skylr hot bath mommy". She catches on quick. Skylr is talking so well know and talks a lot, she is growing so fast. Sky is in 3t-4t clothes and wears a size 6 1/2-7 shoe, and has become quit the fashion expert. Skylr picks out most of her outfits and does a great job matching them, she just picks a color for that day and finds a top and bottom with that color :) it's fun to see her get dressed and decide on an outfit. She is such a girl...every morning i get up and make my bed after i get dressed and Skylr has decided to do the same thing...what a copy cat QT!!!

Outside

Our outside projects are done and now we are enjoying them. Tim poured the cement pad and built the patio cover and we love it. It is so much fun to have the projects done and so nice to have all the shade. We have already had our first BBQ on the new patio as well as a family smores party. The kids love to go out back everyday to ride on the patio. We also put up misters to keep cool and the kids especially like those. Tim planted a tree as well that will also give us much more shade. We are all decked out for the summer and are excited to just enjoy it. Tim is in school now and we love his new schedule. For the first time in our marriage we have Friday, Saturday and Sunday (all day) together. We LOVE it. Tim will start some observation classes soon that will hopefully still allow him to have such an open schedule. Gavin is still growing lots and kicks harder every week. Tim and I joke that Gavin is playing football in there already. I have a Dr. Appointment this week which marks the start of my two week visits. I am already ready for him to be here and Sky is too. She tells us that Gavin is in my belly, but she wants to play with him. She loves to talk to him and multiple times a days asks me to "open my belly" which just means to lift my shirt so that she can talk to Gavin. She only likes to talk to him if my shirt is up. She sings him songs and tells him she lives him. Lately we have been going to the quarter sale to get clothes for Gavin and skylr likes to put the clothes away in Gavin's room and be a big helper. But the biggest news of all is that Skylr decided to potty train about two weeks ago. she is still figuring some things out, but all in all she is doing wonderful. She likes to wear her panties and tells us she has to go, she only has about 3 accidents a week...and is still figuring out the #2 part. But one evening she told Tim she didn't want to wear a diaper anymore and wanted her panties, and that kicked off the potty training...she hasn't looked back since...my big girl. I must say i am sooo excited. I will only have one kid in diapers!!!!! YEAH!!!

All Smiles

Tim has finally returned home after being in Ecuador for 3 weeks. He was teaching seminars and then was able to visit some of the families from his mission. We missed him lots while he was gone, but also had lots of fun on our own. We went to the Canyon County Fair (we were able to get free admision fron the newspaper). The kids had so much fun. Skylr pet all the animals she could, they played in the water (there was an old fire truck set out with its hose on to play in) and then we went to McDonalds to play on the indoor play area since it was so HOT outside. The kids had a blast and I did too (the funest times are often the least expensive times...lol). Skylr and I also kept busy by doing mani's and pedi's, taking walks, hangingout with family, going to the park and spending lots of time with my mom. Tim was also gonw during my birthday, so i celabrated with my mom. We went shoping and i got a free pair of maternity shorts from old navy with a coupon (those are always fun shoping sprees!!!) then dinner at Ice Burg...for there famous milk shakes for dessert. We were very happy when Tim got back though...we went to the park ad played and have been trying to get our outside summer projects wrapped up for a BBQ. The pregnancy is going great and Gavin is growing big big big...just the way we like. Skylr has also been growing and talking more...she often said that daddy is in ecuador and that we are in Idaho...she loves watching animal documentaries and going to the park. We are so happy to be together agian and hope that Tim doesn't veture off to far for a long time. :)

Staying Cool :)

Skylr and Logan have been doing lots of outside playing. Logan loves the water so we went to the park and he was showing Skylr how to enjoy the water, she thinks it's to cold even if it's 100 degrees outside. They have also been indulging in the fun treats of summer and making big Popsicle messes. Fourth of July was supposed to have been spent camping, but a storm came in last minute and the weather was supposed to be in the 30's at night and a high of 60 during the day. So to not relive the drama of packing up at 4am with a sick little girl we stayed home and had our own fun. Hopefully we can go camping once this season. We have also been enjoying the seasonal foods...Skylr had corn on the cob for the frist time and it was a hoot. She took a little reminding to eat it like a typewriter. My birthday will be spent ate the water park, then at an outdoor movie at the same park, the next day we will go to the Music Festival. Skylr and I are celebrating together since Tim has gone off to Ecuador with Partners of America. We have been using our community activities to keep us busy while Tim is gone and it has been very enjoyable. Tim will be back on the 6th of August...he updates our facebook often and if we are friends you should be able to read what he is up to.

Lot's Of Fun!!!

Yesturday we found out that we are having a BOY!!! We are so excited, but even happier to hear that he is healthy and growing great. I felt like I was having a boy for a while and Skylr kept telling us it's a boy not a girl. So i wasn't suprised, but Tim was sure rielieved (although he said he would love to have another girl, he just wanted to have a boy and the sooner the better). We have decided to name him Gavin James Lucore and he is still on track for Nov. 22nd 2010.

We have also been keeping busy with summer acivities. We got a swing set that Skylr loves...she constantly tells me "lylr want to wing mommy. wing on the wing set mommy" so we have been spending lots of time outside. We were also able to go to the zoo. Sky went last year, but this was way more fun. She walked around with us and told us the sounds all the animals make and had a blast. We also went to a Hawks game, which was lots of fun and Skylr seemed to like it. We have been crossing off projects from our list too...Grandpa and Tim installed an attic fan and cieling fan last week. I am so happy to have both, the house already seems much cooler...can't wait to see how much it helped our energy bill. Next is the patio extention along with a patio cover, then we should be done for the summer. :) Unless I think of more!!! :) he he he.

My aunt and her kids are in town from VA for the summer, so we have been at my grandparents house a lot to see them. The kids have been enjoying playing in the water and have lots of fun together. My uncle and his family from Vegas will be here this weekend and I can't wait to see all the little kids playing for the first time. Lots of fun!!!

Camping for the fourth and i can't wait...This year will be way more fun since Skylr can walk and we have a four wheeler. I am a little nervous to be camping while pregnant, but it should be alright. Our good friends the Huff's are also expecting in November so we can suffer together. lol.

In extremely cool news...Tim just got his acceptance letter today, confirming his trip to Ecuador this July. He will be there for three weeks teaching seminars and workshops for an organization he is now apart of. By participating in this workshop he will be highly considered for a teaching position at BSU after he recieves his BA in Dec. 2011. As well as be eligable to high school positions. This trip will be long and hard for Skylr and me, but Tim will enjoy every second and we are so excited for the opportunities it gives our family, so much earlier then we expected. As a bonus, Ecuador is where Tim served his mission and he has planned to visit some of the families he got to know there and has kept in contact with.

Guess Who is 2!!!

Skylr turned 2 on Friday and we had a fun BBQ party for her last night. There were 7 little kids ranging in age, but we had a blast. Thanks to all those who came, and especially to my mom who stayed with me all day making food for everyone. The kids seemed to have lots of fun, I got a ball for everyone and put there name on one to take home...they seemed to think that was pretty awesome. Skylr was pretty shy when it was present time and when we sang to her, but she did enjoy having all of her friends over. Skylr got lots of really cute outfits and fun stuff to play with.

My mom and I took some 2year pictures of Skylr and some 1year pictures of Logan at G&G's house that surprised us...they turned out was better then we could have imagined. It was a very fun experience and now we are current with pictures!! :)
We have also had a few doctors visits, and the baby is doing great...nice strong heart beat and is measuring perfectly. We will be able to find out the gender on June 28th...we are very excited and Skylr seems to be understanding more and more each day.
