So Much Fun!!!

Last Weekend we stumbled onto some fun :) I found a local Carnival that was only a couple blocks away from our house. Skylr got to go on her first ride
and was also able to ride a horse. We had so much fun watching Sky and being there for more of her firsts. We also went to the Roadster Show and found some cars to drool over. Tim's dream car is a 1934 Ford Coupe and I mine is a 1966 Ford Mustang. Skylr got to sit in race car as well as a go-cart.

The other day I stepped out of the room for less then 2 min. to put a book in the car and when i came back into the house i found Skylr feeding Gavin his dinner (that i had made and put on the table so he could eat when we were eating). At first i was in shock and worry that she may chock him, but when i stepped back to watch she was doing a great job, aside from making a mess. I let her help feed him the rest of his dinner and they were both pretty happy about that.

Gavin had his 4 month check up and is quit the healthy boy...

Weight: 15lbs. 3oz in the 50%

Height: 26.25 in. in the 80%
Head 41 cm in the 15 %

Gavin is trying to rollover, he gets to his side really well and will be moving in no time. The Dr. informed me that Gavin has two teeth about to come through, which explains all of the extra drooling. :) Gavin loves his food. He has been eating sweet potatoes for dinner and rice cereal with apple juice for breakfast. He opens his mouth for the next bite like a pro and is upset if i am going to slow. lol. :) My kids love to eat from the get go!!!

We are all doing great, we have managed to stay healthy so far this season (knock on wood) thanks to humidifiers in the rooms. We leave to SF in less than a week and are so excited. We have been planning this trip for what seems like months now.

Let Spring Ring

Gavin is 4 months and getting so big. He goes in for his measurements on the 15th and we are all curious to see how much he has really grown. Gavin has also started on cereal and loves to eat. Since we started cereal he has been sleeping through the night and taking better naps. He has also decided that car rides aren't so bad either (Gavin used to scream and cry in the car seat until we got him out...NOT FUN!). Skylr is still the best big sister anyone could ask for. She loves Gavin so much and now wants to hold him and walk with him places (mommy helps). She has also started to take his pacifier away, she doesn't think he needs it. :)
Skylr and Logan are still the best of friends and Sky asks to see Logan everyday. She misses not seeing him M-F. When they are together they are a hoot, running in circles and laughing until they are exhausted.

Skylr loves going to church and practically cries every time we pass our building and don't go in. She is great during sacrament because she knows that nursery is next. I am the CTR 5 teacher and Gavin has been great with my calling. He sleeps through most of church and then when he is awake he is happy as can be until we get home, then it's all about the food.

We are all so ready for spring to arrive!!! We recently got a kite for Skylr and took her to the park for her first kite flying experience. It was a blast. If only winter would leave, we could have more outside fun without the chill!!! :)

Silly Smiles

Tim has started his last semester of classes and is off to a great start.
We also met our one year mark since we bought our house and we thought it was a pretty cool mile stone. People have said that the first year of home ownership is hard and it takes a few months to get used to, personally that was not the case for us.
Another mile stone we are meeting is 4 years of marriage on Feb. 24th. :) Just before classes started Tim's Grandpa Lucore came to visit us for a couple of days. Tim hadn't seen his grandpa in 12 years. It was a great visit. Skylr has recently become addicted to playing with play dough as well as pretending her necklaces are snakes. Her imagination has just burst and we are really enjoying her take on fun. Skylr is almost three now and is learning so much, she can say her ABC's and count to 10, she also has an amazing memory. She was told a story in October and still tells it over and over.
We were also able to go to McCall to see all of the ice sculptures. My parents, brother, Tim's mom, and our family went up together to spend the day.

Gavin is such a little charmer. He loves to be snuggled with mom and smile to us all. He has become a funny little giggle baby, but sure does need a lot of attention.
Skylr loves to be with her brother and tries to hold him, but after about 15 seconds she says that he is to heavy. Gavin had his 2 month check up, a month ago, and was 13lbs and 24in he was ranked 75% for both.

I gave the kids there first hair cut, i guess it was more like a trim. Skylr got bangs and Gavin got a trim around the neck.
Gavin LOVES his bouncy chair (as long as someone is willing to talk to him while he is in it) he likes the freedom and the change of position. He has such a strong neck that i was able to start putting him in their at 2 1/2 months. Sky was 41/2 months before she was in it.

We are all doing very well and have managed to stay healthy so far this winter (knock on wood). We are excited for spring and think that it is taking forever to arrive. We are still getting used to Tim's new schedule (as we are for a while after the beginning of every semester), and can't wait for graduation in December this year (this fall is his last semester and it is just student teaching). The kids are growing and staying happy and well as mom and dad (except for the growing part...i hope!!!) lol :)

Happy Holidays!!!

This Christmas was lots of fun!!! First we went to a couple family Christmas parties the week before. The first party we went to also had a couple of our friends their that had babies the same time we had Gavin. There are three babies in three weeks. Gavin is the youngest. The next day was our annual Bastian party which we LOVE to go to and see our family. Awhile back Tim took Sky and Logan on a 4wheeling ride that they really enjoyed. Sky also got to open all of her presents from Tim's mom and received a finger paint set, she loved to finger paint...as long as the paint stayed on the paper. Tim put it on her belly and face, and she flipped out, she was adorable asking for a bath. Christmas Eve is always spent at my moms for dinner and new PJ's and this year we added a new fun activity...making cookies for Santa. Skylr and Logan didn't like their Santa visit, so while we made cookies for Santa she would remind us that she doesn't like Santa and doesn't want him to have her cookies. Christmas morning Sky thought Santa would be downstairs and so it wasn't until she saw Tim downstairs that she decided she would go down. Opening presents was fun this year, Skylr loved opening double (we let her open Gavin's presents for him, although she did know they were for him). We all loved everything that we received and want to thank you all, and we hope your Christmas was as wonderful as ours and filled with the spirit. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

Gavin James Lucore Has Arrived

Gavin was born on Nov. 4, 2010. He was 8lbs 9oz 20 1/4in. Gavin was 19 days early and a very healthy boy. I was able to experience a successful VBAC and hope they can all arrive this way in the furture. Skylr LOVES her brother and wants to hold him and tell him it's okay if he cries. She also knows that Gavin isn't in my belly any more she tells us "Gavin no in you belly mommy, Gavin in you arms" she is a great big sister and Gavin is a wonderful new little Lucore. We are so happy to have him here and to be adding to our family.

Halloween Fun

This Halloween weekend was a blast!!!! Saturday was our wards trunk or treat and this year all the wards that attended our building participated in one huge 3 ward trunk or treat. It was awesome :) !!! First we started the evening with soup and salad with my parents made by my mom and me, then we headed over to the Trunk or Treat. This year Skylr was a Fairy Princess (that she picked out herself), I was a Ballerina, Tim was a football man and Darby was a Tiger. My parents didn't dress up, but Logan was a horse. Skylr went to every car and was so polite...saying trick or treat and thank you to everyone and then promptly asking for Tim's hand to hold (until I ran out of candy and went around to the last few cars with them, then she asked for my hand). Sunday the mall passed out candy and we used that as an excuse to do a little speed walking to try to induce labor, but no baby yet (just lots of contractions) then we went around the neighborhood for our final trick or treating experience in 2010, although I think Sky enjoyed passing out the candy more then asking for it. :)
Last Thursday was my most recent Dr.'s appointment and i was told that Gavin is doing great (in the head down position) and will come when he is ready, but the only thing i can do to move things along are walk, so we have been walking a lot. :) We are all ready for Gavin James Lucore to arrive and Skylr keeps telling me that he will come "soon mommy soon, Gavin come soon" whenever i ask her. Friday is our next appointment and hopefully I will have progressed even more, as of Thursday i am 2cm dilated and 50% effaced...which is great considering I am not in labor yet :) Come on Gavin we want to meet ya!!!

Fall Has Started

Friday Oct. 15th was a busy day. Tim started painting Gavin's room while I made dinner and got pumpkins ready to be painted and carved with my parents, and it was also the last day of watching Logan and the official start of my mom staying home with him. After 13 and 1/2 months of watching Logan, he now gets to spend all day with mom...we are so excited to have my mom home and to be back to our little Lucore unit. Saturday Tim and I finished painting Gavin's room and got all of the decoration's put together...We LOVE how his room turned out,we even framed the BSU sports illustrate and put them in his room and now we are just waited to get some letters to spell Gavin above his crib. A big thanks to Tim's Dad and Shannon for getting Gavin his room kit xxx!!! I have been seeing to doctor weekly since the beginning of the month and Gavin has been growing and doing great :) we are so happy with his development and position. Friday is our next appointment and that is when some birthing decisions will be made...if everything is progressing well we may get to meet him in a couple weeks...we can't wait!
Skylr has been such a big help around the house lately. She loves to put the dirty clothes on the washing machine (she can't reach to put them in), help change over the laundry, make the beds, put away the dishes, make biscuits, cut olives, set the table, put away clothes and so much more, but that's all that i can think of :)
