Let the Sun Shine

Handsome Boys!!

Beautiful Girls!!

Well the weather has been pretty up and down, so we have been trying to find some different ways to have some fun.

We got the garden all ready to plant some pumpkins, tomatoes, watermelon, and one another tomato plant. Daddy and Skylr built a cave and Slylr put all of her toys in it and played a good portion of the morning with it.
We drove past the rooster tail let out at the Lucky Peak dam. We were all still sick, so we used to drove as a way to get out of the house.

We went to the Discovery Center in Boise. We had a lot of fun interacting with all the hands on displays. Skylr LOVED the supermarket and vet areas where everything is set up for the kids height and they get to pretend.

We also celebrated Skylr's 3rd birthday. We had a Zoo theme and lots of friends over. Skylr loved playing with her friends, opening presents and eating cupcakes. We were a little sad that the weather turned into a windy mess after an hour or so, but we came inside and enjoyed.

Skylr and Gavin are doing great. Our family experienced a first when we all got sick at the same time. The kids had double ear infections and Tim and I had head colds. We are all better now and waiting for warm weather to come and stay.

Skylr is very excited to spend the summer outside and play with her brother. We have been working on letter recognition and she is doing very well for her first week. She has known her ABC's and how to count to 10 for a year or so now, so we are moving forward.
Gavin is growing very tall. He still sucks his thumb, but only when we can't get after him to stop. He loves to eat, but manages to stay so skinny. He loves to eat bananas, apple sauce, cereal, squash, butternut squash, carrots and a couple of mixed foods. Gavin is still nursing and we are doing well with that still although teeth are coming in. He has two bottom teeth and the others aren't far behind.

Tim has finished his last semester of classes, after student teaching in the fall he will graduate in December. we are very excited and have started planning for out next move. We aren't sure if we will stay in Idaho to complete a Masters program at BSU or move to California to complete a different master program their. We have a lot of choice and factors.

San Fransisco Fun

This spring break we were able to take an awesome trip to San Fransisco California for 9 days, but first we spend two days in Sacramento California. To brake up our trip we stopped in Reno and went to Circus Circus, and we say a fun dog show.
After stopping in Reno we headed through Donner's pass where we were required to have chains, and since we didn't have any the highway patrol made us get off the free way and we have to purchase some at a local hardware store. Then I put the chains on while Tim took car of the driving and the kids. My arms are much smaller then Tim's so it was a lot easier for me to do. We finally made it to Sacramento and the fallowing day we saw the city, it was rainy so we spent most of the time in the car as well as any place indoor. Skylr and I ran in to see the Delta King which is a restored fairy that has become a hotel/restaurant. During our walking around we found this adorable old time 50's restaurant called Johnny Rocket To break up out trip to San Fran from Sac. we stopped at the Jelly belly factory. We all had our hats on and were able to sample some new flavors as well as walk through the factory to learn how jelly belly's are made. While we were gone skylr decided that she would like to change Gavin's diapers and as been asking to change more ever since. The weather was a little rainy so we went to more indoor activities. We went to Aquarium of the Bay were skylr and Tim touched some star fish and Tim pet a shark. we saw lots of fun sea creatures and were able to walk through both of their tunnel tanks.

As we were going into the Aquarium we saw that the Raideretes were in the store next door. And i am sure that you know, Tim is a BIG Raiders fan ans loved that Sky could take a picture with them.

The weather lightened up after the aquarium so we were able to hang out on the pier and see some of the sea lions. There is a Carousel on the pier and skylr wanted to ride on it so bad, she was really good during our walk and got to go on a ride. But she was very sad when it was over and wanted another ride.We did a lot of walking during out trip and this day was no exception. We saw the Palace of fine arts and walked through North Beach and China Town.We drove to San Fran. but we used the public transportation to get around the city, to save on parking. It was pretty cool. we got to the point were we knew were the bus stops were and which bus or train would get us were. we took the bus, train, & cable cars which is all considered the Muni.We tried to plan our trip strategically. We planned lots of waling one day and not so much another. we were able to go to the Oakland temple which is one of 15 without the angel Moroni on it. we watched a video in the visitors center and went up to the roof where there was a beautiful view.after the temple we went to a giants vs. A's baseball game. we stayed until the 7th inning and the giant's won 4-3.We were supposed to walk the golden gate park until we found out that it would be over 100 blocks round trip. but on the way to the park skylr had an accident in her pants and we had to back track to find a second hand store to get her new pants. but on the way back we found a magic shop and snapped this picture. after the magic shop we stopped at a cafe on the beach for lunch and then built some sand castles.Next we went on a bay cruise that took us under the golden gate bridge and around Alcatraz. An automated tour was given and we learned a lot about San Fransisco. Later that day, after the cruise, we got on a faire and went to Alcatraz for another automated tour. We were worried that the tour wouldn't be fun, but it really was. There were cool sound effects and the pace was perfect. we could even pause it and stay longer at one spot or feed Gavin, then start where it left off. it was really cool to learn about Alcatraz the famous prion. :)Next was Yosemite, we decided to go to Yosemite since it was only a 3 hr (one way) trip and it broke up our walking. It was a beautiful day of sight seeing and fresh air. We did have a close encounter with a coyote, he walked across the street ride in front of the car and then we stopped for pictures, but when we did that and said hi he came right up to the car and sat down two feet from my door. pretty cool and intense!! Next was the Zoo. Skylr was so thrilled we went to the Zoo, she loved seeing the animals. The San Fran zoo has a children's zoo in it and that allows some of the animals to be pet and looked at closer, that was really fun.
The day before we left we drove to all the sights that are to far to walk and don't take up a lot of time. We drove over the golden gate bridge, went down Lombard street, went to coit tower and a few other sights.
Our vacation was awesome and the kids were great. the kids handled the 10-12 hour drive well although we had our moments. Gavin was the lucky one and got to travel in the wrap during our walking days, but Sky was quit the trooper during our walks. She never once got tired and when Tim and I did sit because we needed a rest she was off running like she had been cooped up all day. We are so blessed that we were able to experience such a wonderful trip together and we hope we can have another adventure soon.

So Much Fun!!!

Last Weekend we stumbled onto some fun :) I found a local Carnival that was only a couple blocks away from our house. Skylr got to go on her first ride
and was also able to ride a horse. We had so much fun watching Sky and being there for more of her firsts. We also went to the Roadster Show and found some cars to drool over. Tim's dream car is a 1934 Ford Coupe and I mine is a 1966 Ford Mustang. Skylr got to sit in race car as well as a go-cart.

The other day I stepped out of the room for less then 2 min. to put a book in the car and when i came back into the house i found Skylr feeding Gavin his dinner (that i had made and put on the table so he could eat when we were eating). At first i was in shock and worry that she may chock him, but when i stepped back to watch she was doing a great job, aside from making a mess. I let her help feed him the rest of his dinner and they were both pretty happy about that.

Gavin had his 4 month check up and is quit the healthy boy...

Weight: 15lbs. 3oz in the 50%

Height: 26.25 in. in the 80%
Head 41 cm in the 15 %

Gavin is trying to rollover, he gets to his side really well and will be moving in no time. The Dr. informed me that Gavin has two teeth about to come through, which explains all of the extra drooling. :) Gavin loves his food. He has been eating sweet potatoes for dinner and rice cereal with apple juice for breakfast. He opens his mouth for the next bite like a pro and is upset if i am going to slow. lol. :) My kids love to eat from the get go!!!

We are all doing great, we have managed to stay healthy so far this season (knock on wood) thanks to humidifiers in the rooms. We leave to SF in less than a week and are so excited. We have been planning this trip for what seems like months now.
