- She has started to dislike her car seat. She tolerates it at times, but vocalizes her frustration.
- She has been eating about every 2 hours, I think that it is because she is growing.
- She eats from "me" during the day, but i give her formula with cereal mixed with it so that she will sleep in longer block increments.
- I usually start getting her ready for bed at 9:00 and she is asleep by 9:30-10:00. She wakes up at 2:00 am, then 6:00 am I give her 4 ounces of formula combined with cereal at each of those feedings. She eats and goes right back to sleep and then we are up for the morning at 8:00 am.
- She hates belly time.
- She loves her swing, bouncy chair, highchair, Johnny Jumper, stroller, Bumbo and playing on the blanket on the floor.
- She absolutely loves being outside, so i try to take her for at least one half hour walk a day. For the past two days i have been using the little "snuggli" back packs and she falls asleep during the walk.
- She talks so much now, she "coos" and "gabbers" all of the time, and if you make her laugh she gets the hick-ups.
- She seems to sleep better if she is swaddled.
- She will sleep longer unswaddled if you are holding her, but once you put her down and walk away she wakes up.
- When she is on her belly she pushes forward with her legs, I wonder if I am going to be in trouble sooner then i thought!:)
- She likes to watch ceiling fans and her daddy wrestle with our dog Darby.
- She favors her right side, which means I have to fight with her to lay and look to her left.
- She likes to be read to so i read at least 3 books a day to her...she likes them better at night right now, the sound of my voice soothes her to sleep.
- She is a GREAT burper and she lets everyone know it.
- When she gets fussy, as soon as you face her forward so she can see her surroundings better...she stops her fuss'n.
- She loves her puppy Darby, and Darby loves her. Darby often gives her kisses and Skylr willingly accepts them.
- Her naps don't seem to last longer than an hour, so she takes many of them. About 3-4 a day.
- We don't like to have her watch T.V., but if she gets a glance she is mesmerized.
- She's really calm during her baths and she loves showers with mom. She likes to watch me and we make each other laugh.

Skylr
Skylr is slowly starting to become her own little person, she definitely likes things to be a certain way, and she will let you know when she doesn't like something. She has just barely master her cry's, she never was a cry baby. She would fuse, but now she cry's really well when she wants something.

Johnny Junper!!! Bouncy Bouncy...Swing!!!

Skylr tryed out her Johnny Jumper today, she seemed to really like it. I had to put a blanket on each side of her so that she could sit in there straight. She could reach the ground with her little toes and she would swing around a little, which she thought was fun. I helped her bounce a little and she was quit the smiley little girl. Skylr will be bouncing through the roof here soon. But right now I like my little baby girl that's just learning to giggle and roll over. I don't want her to grow to fast, but it's inevitable that she is getting bigger and growing into a smart little cookie. Sky has been turning her head more when her name is called, but she doesn't look at you for long unless you are talking to her and making silly sound/faces.
Pool Splashes

Skylr and I took a little dip yesterday. Tim was washing the car and it was about 100 degrees out so we put on our swim suits. Tim kept splashing us with the water (which I thought felt good, but it surprised Skylr every time...It was cute and silly) so we filled up a little pool and hoped in. Sky didn't like it at first but then she came around. She didn't want to play for very long, but it sure was a refreshing change from the heat. We can't wait until next summer when she is more interacive...we hope that she likes the water as much as we do. We want to take her to the beach this January and we predict that she will love it...

Visisting Great Great Grandma!!!

Skylr took her first trip to the great metropolis known as Jerome Idaho to visit her great great grandma Bean. Grandma was extremely excited to see our little ball of beauty. It had been ages since grandma had held a baby so she was a little nervous. I had fun showing her the proper way to hold Skylr. Grandma then took us on a shopping spree for clothes, diapers, wipes, toys, and anything else a beautiful baby could want or need. She is sporting a new pink dress grandma picked out, as you can see in one of the pics. We had a nice lunch at grandmas favorite "smorgasbord" the golden corral. It was fun spending the day with grandma and we can't wait to see her again.
I am a QT!!!!

Skylr is still at that age were I can dress her up in anything...and i am taking full advantage of it. Julie got her this outfit from a friend in Virginia, and we love it. She has so many clothes, it is so fun dressing a little girl. She is going through another big growth spurt. She eats every 2 and a half hours now and sleeps so much more. Tim comments on how she is getting so big, everyday when he comes home form work. It's really exciting to watch her grow and start to move through her mile stones, but it also is very sad to see my little baby girl grow up. I can't even imagine you mothers with older "babies" according to my mom i am still her baby...a label you never grow out of. lol.

What's New with the Lucore's

We recently got a new couch. Our little two seater couch just wasn't working for our growing family, so we upgraded to grande. we really like the couch and it fits in the house just right. although it doesn't have any recliners like our last couch it is perfect for us.
Darby isn't allowed on this couch, it has been quit an adjustment for her since she was always on the other one. We have been super busy lately. I just finished my last quarter attending classes @ TVCC. i will finish online so that i can be with Skylr. Tim didn't take classes this summer and that was awsome to have a break, but he starts his fall classes on monday :( it will be hard not to be able to see him as often. He has classes monday through thursday 6-9pm. atleast we have the weekends together. Skylr and i will miss him, but he should be home for Sky's bedtime. this should be tim's last semester with this night schedule, he should be attending classes during the day and online next semester...can't wait. Skylr is so active now, she is rolling to her sides and can talk your ears off with gibbers. She loves being outside and looking around, which is why she always wants to be sitting up and standing.

Growing Growing Growing

Skylr is growing like a weed. She was 3 months thursday 8-14-08. We went to the doctor yesturday and Sky is 13.5 lbs which is almost 6lbs gained since birth. She has grown 4 inches in her length and 2 inches around her nogen. She is as healthy as can be and she shows it. Sky also had to get her vaccinations yesturday...that was hard for both of us. While we were waitig for the nurse to come in with the vaccs. Sky fell asleep and she didn't wake up until that first shot. She was not happy and was a little fussy the rest of the day, but she is doing great this morning.

Go Boise Hawks!!!!

We just got home from the Boise Hawk's Baseball game about an hour ago...and it was a blast. The Hawk's baseball team had the honor of presenting the first sporting event Skylr has attended and they won 5-3. We had a great time at the game, a co-worker of Tim's gave him free box tickets; so we had amazing seats. We sat by the other teams dugout, and we were in the shade the whole time...it couldn't have been better seats for Skylr. Sky behaved like her usual self...perfect. She only fussed once about an hour and a half into the game when she became hungry, for the most part she sat on my lap and watched the game, when she wasn't sleeping.

whats new?!?

Skylr has moved to her crib. Friday July 25th was her first night in her own room. She woke up at 5:00am to eat, then at 8:00am. I get her ready for bed around 9:00pm, before she moved to her crib she slept all night, but now she wakes up in the middle of the night and takes a lot longer to go to bed. Julie was telling me that Sky got used to different noises during the night when she slept in our room, and now the noises have changed. I have been a little more tired this past week, but thats part of the transition. I had a pretty hard time that first night, i wanted her to be close to me, but we have been doing well with her in her own room. I check on her often and have the baby monitors up really high. lol. she is growing so much it is insane.
Skylr loves getting wet. She is so good during baths and has been taking showers with mom. I was pretty nervous for her first shower becuase i know how slippery babies can be when wet, but she did great. she loves the water splashing on her face and it's so cute how she focus' on me so well.
i have a new chair

Yesterday Skylr got a chair that she can sit up in all by herself. She has been favoring her right side when she is lying down, which is creating a flat spot on her head. The flat spot isn't to bad, but will get worse if she continues to lay on it so much. We got her the chair so that she can sit up or lay down when she is playing, this way she can strengthen her neck and other muscles that help her sit up. She enjoys her chair for a while, but it poops her out pretty fast right now, the more she is in it the longer she will last. These pictures were taken today, and that big arm is her daddy's...she likes to make silly faces at him.
family trip to twin falls

Saturday July 26th Lanae, my parents, Tim, Skylr and I took a trip to Twin Falls for the temple open house. This trip was the longest one for Skylr and she did great. We had a great time, it was the Lucore's first temple open house as a family and individually. During the movie that is viewed before the tour, Skylr had a big blow-out that was not discovered until we were already in the temple...far from the diaper bag. When the tour was over she was all cleaned up and we had a refreshment in the gym....which was beautifully decorated. After lunch, on the way back home, we discovered another blow-out. We pulled over just off of the freeway over pass to clean her up. My mom had to help since it was all in her car seat and up to her belly button. She sure was messy. Although she went through two outfits that day, she was very well behaved and the drive didn't seem to long. The temple was amazing, it was so gorgeous and so worth the four hours of driving that day.

I am a growing machine

Skylr is growing so fast that she can't wear two of her outfits anymore, including this dress. This is our favorite dress too. See how Skylr is sitting up, she was sitting back against the couch, but she is so strong that she pulled herself up. Grandma is holding Sky in the far left picture, it's awesome that she is able to visit so often. Skylr is still sleeping through the night, she is about to move out of our room from her bassinet to her crib. I am sorta sad to not have her next to me all night, but she sleeps so well and has just about grown out of her bassinet.
Family Fun

Friday night The Miller's and The Lucore's went to the Twilight Cycling Race in down town Boise. We all had such a really good time together. There were lots of people so it made for finding a good seat hard, but we were able to sneak in a get a corner spot. Skylr was so good, she didn't cry until we got back into the truck to leave. It was really fun to see all of the cyclists and to see Craig light up when we arrived. We can't wait to go to an event like that again, it was the first race any of us had been to.
Look at Me

Skylr is growing so fast, she is becoming more and more interactive everyday. She smiles alot now and has pretty much mastered holding her head up. When she is sitting on your lap she always tries to pull her self up, but she just looks like she is doing crunches. Skylr is so much fun, she is awake more often during the day, which means more silly faces. :)

The Homer's are still in town and they have really enjoyed spending time with Skylr. The kids love to hold her and are always telling me how small she is and how she has little fingers. They sure are fun with her. This is Karissa and Skylr spending some time together.
Blessing
Say good morning Skylr. This is Sky the morning of her blessing. We invited Great Grandparents, Grandparents, Great Aunts, second cousins as well as friends. Tim did very well in giving the blessing. We were both put on the spot that day, I was asked to give the opening prayer, then he gave the blessing. lol. Skylr was blessed on July 13, 2008. It wasn't a fast Sunday, we missed fast Sunday since Tim was out of town. Although we didn't have a big get together after church, it was very nice to be with our friends and family.
Mommy and Me. Skylr is wearing the dress the I wore for my baby blessing. I thought it was pretty cool that my mom saved it for me and that Sky was able to wear it. She was just about the same age I was when i was blessed, so the dress fit her pretty well.
Skylr was very good during the blessing and through out church that day, she didn't cry and wasn't a bit fussy.

Happy Fourth of July!!!!
This was Skylr's first fourth of July. This year we spent the day at Grandma and Grandpa Bastian's house. The Homer's set off fireworks after the adults played a game of phase 10. We had a fun time. We thought it would be cute to dress up in patriotic colors so that we could take a family picture, and although Sky looks a little unhappy she was very good all day long...even while Julie, my mom and i went shopping all day. needless to say we enjoyed the fourth this year, even though we didn't camp.

Sunday July 6th Tim left to Birmingham, AL for business. I have really missed him and my days seem really long since he is gone. my mom has been stopping by everyday after work to take care of bonnie, her rabbit, as well as visit with me. since Tim wont be back until about 11:30 friday night, i have been taking pitures of Skylr everyday and e-mailing them to him so that he can see her. She is groing so fast right now that we don't wont daddy to miss a beat.
Skylr
we went shopping the other day and Skylr was so tired that she fell asleep in her stroller just like this. luckely we had the camera so that we could capture the moment. she is so silly and the cutest...wouldn't you concure!!!
Skylr is still sleeping about 5-7 hours a night and is more and more active everyday. She loves to play in her bouncy chair, every time she moves she makes it bounce. It's great, if she starts to get fussy her movement, making the chair bounce, calms her down. She smiles quite often now and is the most responsive after naps and before feedings. She eats great still and is a joy.

Skylr (2 weeks old) and the Family

we have just recieved Skylr's 2 week baby pictures and our first family pictures. Skylr has grown so much since then, and i know it's sorta back tracking in age, but i have to post them since i just got 'em. Skylr was having such a fusy day when we had the pictures done, so we don't have a whole lot of pictures, but the ones we have are very adorable. I am most excited about our 4 generation picture with my grandma, me, Skylr and my mom. We would have liked to have more family pictures and some more of diffrent little posses here and there, but Sky wasn't feeling well so we got what we got. we will be getting a 6 month portrait done and we will have tones of home pictures until then, so i'm not disapointed at all.

Sleeping

For the past week, Skylr has been sleeping great. The longest time at night has been six hours, but she averages four to six. She has just recently excepted a bottle. She eats really well and Tim and I are able to go on an occasional date if i pump. our first date was the week after Iron man came out. My mom watched Skylr and we watched the movie. which was great. my mom has been such a big help and i feel very blessed to have her so close now. she is at the house every other day to take care of her rabbit bonnie and to be with Skylr. My mom is amazing and if you didn't know already, she just celabrated a birthday. the big fourty, and to add to her celebration, on the 28 her and Craig are going to be sealed in the temple. our family couldn't be more happy for them, they are truley great examples for so many and loved by so many more.
It has also been fun to have Tim's mom around, she lives a few miles from us and we have visited her often, she is going to watch Skylr while we attend the Miller's sealing. Our family has ben a great asset and we long spending time with all of them.

Skylr and Darby

Darby was very used to being the center of attention before Skylr arrived, which has made the past month interesting. When we first brought Skylr home from the hospital, we were worried about Darby's reaction. To our surprise she could have cared less. For a 2 and a half year old energetic German Shorthair puppy, she has been very calm and respectful of Skylr's space. Tim and I have made it a point to give her attention when we wern't holding Sky, and it has really paid off. Darby is a little more interested in Skylr now that she has been home a month, she doesn't like it when Skylr cries...she wants to kiss her all over to make her happy (which is what she does if anyone cries around her) and when Skylr sqeaks and makes silly noises Darby lifts her head in interest. This is the first picture they have taken together and as you can see in the video we made after the picture, Darby loves Skylr.

May 14,2008

Born May 14,2008 @ 10:41 am. She was 7lbs. 15oz., 20.5 in. long.
That morning was quite a surprise. I was scheduled to be induced at 7 am. Tim and I were right on time, they got me all set up, & the plitosin was kicking in. I was in labor for three hours before I asked for the epideral, I was dialated 5 cm, but during the check they found out she was breach. The doctors stopped the meds and rushed me into the operating room for an emergancy C-section. Skylr sparked Tim and my emotions and we cryed until She left the room to be measured and stuff. All of the doctors said she was perfect and looked like a Skylr Ann. She is a great baby and an even bigger blessing to our family.
When Tim saw Skylr he didn't think that she looked like him, but after a few glances we were able to show him how she looks so much like him...his eyes and hair, but she definatley has the Bastain nose and my lips.
I am recovering fast from the C-section and will be back to normal soon.
